Isaac Wiles Hires Ohio Magistrate and Seasoned Litigator Scott Sheets
COLUMBUS, OH (Jan. 29, 2024) – Isaac Wiles, a full-service law firm in Columbus, Ohio, is pleased to announce the hiring of Scott Sheets, a former Ohio Court of Claims magistrate with more than 20 years of litigation experience in both the state court system and as a practicing attorney. Sheets joined Isaac Wiles today as Of Counsel in the firm’s Litigation and Public Law practices.
As a magistrate for the Ohio Court of Claims for the past six years, Sheets presided over bench trials and mediated civil cases involving tort claims against state entities as well as public records claims against governmental entities from across Ohio. Previously, he served as director of litigation and assistant prosecutor for the Franklin County Prosecutor’s office, and as a staff attorney for the Franklin County Common Pleas Court.
Prior to his public sector work, Sheets was an attorney at one of the two firms that merged in 2013 to become Isaac Wiles. While there, he litigated cases in state and federal court representing individuals, small businesses, insurance companies, and governmental entities.

A Columbus native, Sheets received his undergraduate degree from The College of Wooster and his law degree from Ohio State University’s Moritz College of Law. He is admitted to the Ohio bar, the U.S. District Court for the Southern and Northern Districts of Ohio, and the Sixth Circuit U.S. Court of Appeals.
