about Matt Aumann

Matt Aumann is a public sector problem solver. From defending a multi-billion-dollar procurement to responding to a public records request, he is ready to help.

Matt’s career was first dedicated to education. Inspired by his AmeriCorps service, he worked as a law clerk for the Ohio Department of Education and then provided advice to school districts, educational service centers, and joint vocational school districts across the state.

He then naturally expanded his practice to include counties, cities, villages, townships, transportation authorities, state agencies, and universities, among others.

While he enjoys giving practical advice to avoid litigation, he is not afraid of court. He served as a law clerk to the Honorable Sarah D. Morrison of the Southern District of Ohio, and has appeared (and won) in the Ohio Supreme Court, 6th Circuit Court of Appeals, and other state and federal courts in Ohio.

But most importantly, Matt enjoys solving problems. His clients have trusted him to defend a $20 billion procurement, end the longest higher education strike in state history, advise Ohio’s first school district in academic distress, and take on a multi-billion dollar hospital, as some examples. He is driven by his client’s public service mission to find the right result.
