about Matt Aumann
Matt Aumann is dedicated to providing practical guidance and litigation support to public entities. Whether analyzing contracts, providing counseling during a strike, or litigating public records disputes in the Court of Claims, he is ready to lend a helping hand, regardless of the issue.
Initially, Matt served education-related entities. After serving as a law clerk at the Ohio Department of Education, he provided general counseling to school districts, educational service centers, and joint vocational school districts all across the state. His day-to-day counseling ranged from licensure questions, to eminent domain, to non-renewals and terminations.
He then expanded his public sector practice to include cities, townships, libraries, transportation authorities and universities, among others. In addition to addressing the “day-to-day,” he was on-the-ground for a 21-day strike, represented public employers before the State Employment Relations Board and conducted high profile employee investigations in unionized environments.
Finally, Matt rounded out his litigation experience by serving as a law clerk to the Honorable Sarah D. Morrison of the Southern District of Ohio, and has appeared in state and federal courts across Ohio.
Matt enjoys supporting the mission of his public sector clients, and is at his best when considering the big picture while digging into the details.
