COLUMBUS, Ohio, July 23, 2018 – At the American Association for Justice (“AAJ”) Annual Convention, Isaac Wiles partner Mark Troutman was elected by his peers as Treasurer of the Class Action Law Group (“CALG”). CALG is one of the largest groups in the AAJ with over 450 members, which includes top class action litigators from all over the country. In addition to handling the group’s finances, Mark intends to increase collaboration among the members of CALG and to provide support to the other officers. Mark will serve the group for his two-year term as Treasurer and will seek further leadership positions thereafter.
As the world's largest trial bar association, the AAJ promotes justice and fairness for injured persons, safeguards victims' rights—particularly the right to trial by jury—and strengthens the civil justice system through education and disclosure of information critical to public health and safety. With members worldwide, and a network of U.S. and Canadian affiliates involved in diverse areas of trial advocacy, the AAJ provides lawyers with the information and professional assistance needed to serve clients successfully and protect the democratic values inherent in the civil justice system.
A co-leader of Isaac Wiles’ class action team, Mark represents plaintiffs against some of the world’s largest and most sophisticated companies. Mark is dedicated to vindicating the rights of consumers against those who would seek to take unfair advantage of them. He has litigated against automobile manufacturers, pharmaceutical companies, health insurance companies, and natural gas companies. His work takes him across the country, practicing in state courts across Ohio and federal courts from California to Virginia.
